Hoërskool Louis Trichardt is baie trots op ons drie leerders wat die skool by die WOW Spelfees se nasionale ronde in Stellenbosch verteenwoordig het.
Diana Jordaan (Graad 10), Phathu Tshikombedze (Graad 8) en Taayo Jegede (Graad 8) het die besondere geleentheid gehad om hul taalvaardigheid op nasionale vlak ten toon te stel en teen sterk deelnemers van regoor Suid-Afrika mee te ding.
Die nasionale ronde het op 3 Oktober 2026 in Stellenbosch plaasgevind en was die hoogtepunt van ’n reis wat reeds baie voorbereiding, konsentrasie en harde werk van ons deelnemers geverg het.
Diana Jordaan eindig 12de in Suid-Afrika
’n Besonderse hoogtepunt vir Hoërskool Louis Trichardt was Diana Jordaan se uitstekende 12de plek in die land.
Om tot op nasionale vlak deur te dring en daarna onder die voorste deelnemers in Suid-Afrika te eindig, is ’n prestasie waarop sy met reg trots kan wees.
Diana, ’n Graad 10-leerder, het Hoërskool Louis Trichardt met trots verteenwoordig en haar vermoë, voorbereiding en taalvaardigheid tydens die kompetisie ten toon gestel.
Baie geluk, Diana, met jou 12de plek nasionaal! Dit is ’n besondere prestasie en ’n mooi beloning vir die harde werk wat jou tot by die nasionale ronde gebring het.
Phathu en Taayo verteenwoordig Triegies op nasionale vlak
Ons is net so trots op Phathu Tshikombedze en Taayo Jegede, albei Graad 8-leerders, wat ook aan die nasionale ronde deelgeneem het.
Hoewel hulle nie hierdie keer ’n plek in die finale ranglys behaal het nie, is deelname op nasionale vlak reeds ’n groot prestasie.
Om tot by hierdie stadium van die WOW Spelfees te vorder, vereis voorbereiding, selfvertroue en die moed om jou taalvaardighede teen die beste deelnemers uit verskillende dele van die land te toets.
Phathu en Taayo het hul skool met trots verteenwoordig en waardevolle ervaring opgedoen wat hulle saam met hulle kan neem na toekomstige geleenthede.
Woorde bou ’n beter môre
Die WOW Spelfees vier veel meer as net die korrekte spelling van woorde.
Dit moedig jongmense aan om ’n liefde vir taal en lees te ontwikkel, hul woordeskat uit te brei en met selfvertroue in verskillende tale te kommunikeer.
Vir Hoërskool Louis Trichardt is dit besonders om leerders te sien wat bereid is om hul akademiese en taalvaardighede verder te ontwikkel en hulself buite die klaskamer uit te daag.
Die deelname van Diana, Phathu en Taayo is ’n pragtige voorbeeld van die waarde van voorbereiding, volharding en die bereidwilligheid om nuwe uitdagings aan te pak.

Triegies proudly represent Hoërskool Louis Trichardt at the WOW Spelling Festival – Diana Jordaan finishes 12th nationally
Hoërskool Louis Trichardt is extremely proud of our three learners who represented the school at the national round of the WOW Spelling Festival in Stellenbosch.
Diana Jordaan (Grade 10), Phathu Tshikombedze (Grade 8) and Taayo Jegede (Grade 8) had the special opportunity to showcase their language skills at national level and compete alongside strong participants from across South Africa.
The national round took place on 3 October 2026 in Stellenbosch and marked the culmination of a journey that required preparation, concentration and dedication from each of our participants.
Diana Jordaan finishes 12th in South Africa
A particular highlight for Hoërskool Louis Trichardt was Diana Jordaan’s excellent 12th-place finish nationally.
Reaching the national level and then finishing among the leading participants in South Africa is an achievement she can be extremely proud of.
Diana, a Grade 10 learner, represented Hoërskool Louis Trichardt with pride and demonstrated her ability, preparation and language skills throughout the competition.
Congratulations, Diana, on finishing 12th in South Africa! It is a wonderful achievement and a fitting reward for the hard work that brought you all the way to the national round.
Phathu and Taayo proudly compete at national level
We are equally proud of Phathu Tshikombedze and Taayo Jegede, both Grade 8 learners, who also competed in the national round.
Although they did not place in the final rankings on this occasion, reaching and participating at national level is already a significant accomplishment.
Progressing to this stage of the WOW Spelling Festival requires preparation, confidence and the courage to test one’s language skills against some of the strongest participants from across the country.
Phathu and Taayo represented their school with pride and gained valuable national-level experience that they can carry forward into future opportunities.
Words build a better tomorrow
The WOW Spelling Festival celebrates much more than simply spelling words correctly.
It encourages young people to develop a love for language and reading, expand their vocabulary and communicate with greater confidence.
At Hoërskool Louis Trichardt, it is wonderful to see learners who are willing to develop their academic and language abilities and challenge themselves beyond the classroom.
The participation of Diana, Phathu and Taayo is a wonderful example of the value of preparation, perseverance and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
